- 11/2 cups half-and-half or light cream
- 2tablespoonespresso powder or
- 2teaspooninstant coffee crystals
- 3tablespoonlight corn syrup
- 1/4teaspoonground cinnamon
- 2tablespoonbutter (no substitutes)
- 1teaspoonvanilla extract

Butter the foil

Butter sides of a heavy 3-quart saucepan

Combine sugar, half-and-half or light cream, espresso powder or instant coffee crystals, corn syrup and cinnamon in the saucepan

Cook and stir over medium-high heat until mixture boils
