Cake Batter 2 3/4 cups sifted cake flour 4 teaspoons baking powder 1/2 teaspoon salt 3/4 cup butter 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar 4 egg whites

Cream butter until very soft, then work in 1 cup of the sugar, a little at a time, until mixture is light and fluffy
