- 1/4cupgranulated sugar
- 2teaspoonbaking powder
- 1/2teaspoonsalt
- 1/4teaspoonbaking soda
- 1/3cupbutter
- 2/3to 3/4 cup buttermilk
- 1/2cupwalnuts, chopped

Grease cookie sheets

In large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and baking soda

blend well

Using fork or pastry blender, cut in margarine until mixture resembles coarse crumbs

Add buttermilk and walnuts

stir just until dry ingredients are moistened

Drop by heaping teaspoonsful 2 inches apart onto greased cookie sheets
