- 1cupapplesauce
- 1/2cupgranulated sugar
- 1/2cupbrown sugar
- 1/2cupbutter or margarine
- 1large egg, well beaten

Cream together the sugars and butter

Add the beaten egg and mix well

Add baking soda and spices

You may also add 1/2 cup raisins or chopped nuts, or a combination of both

Beat by hand until well mixed and no lumps remain

Bake at 350 degrees F for 30 to 40 minutes

Test for doneness with a knife when half an hour is up
