- 11/2 cups granulated sugar
- 31/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1teaspoonsalt
- 1/2cupshortening
- 1cupmilk, divided
- 1teaspoonvanilla extract
- 4egg whites (1/2 cup)

Measure flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, shortening, 2/3 cup of the milk and vanilla extract into large mixer bowl

Blend 1/2 minute on low speed, scraping bowl constantly

Beat 2 minutes on high speed, scraping bowl occasionally

Add remaining milk and the egg whites

Pour into greased and floured 15 x 10-inch jellyroll pan
