- 11/2 ts baking powder
- 1/4tsp salt
- 6tbsp butter or margarine
- 1/3cup shortning
- 3/4cup sugar
- 1egg
- 1tbsp milk

2 c Flour 1 1/2 ts Baking powder 1/4 ts Salt 6 tb Butter or margarine 1/3 c Shortning 3/4 c Sugar 1 Egg 1 tb Milk 1 ts Vanilla Stir together

In a large mixer bowl beat butter until butter is softened

Add sugar and beat until fluffy add egg milk and vanilla and beat well

Add flour mixture and beat until well mixed

Divide dough in half Cover and chill at least 3 hours or until easy to handle

Roll dough 1/8 inch thick

Cut with cookie cutters place on an ungreased cookie sheet bake in a 350 degree oven for 7 8 minutes or until done

Remove and cool if desired decorate makes 36 to 48 cookies
