In small saucepan, heat 1 cup of the evaporated milk to just boiling

Slowly stir hot milk into gelatin

stir until gelatin is dissolved

Mix in remaining evaporated milk, the pumpkin, brown sugar, pumpkin pie spice, and vanilla
