- 2c sugar
- 1c butter
- 2ts salt
- 1ts ground cloves
- 1tb ginger
- 2ts soda
- 3/4c water

In small bowl, dissolve salt in the water

In a pint measuring cup, combine molasses with soda

Sift dry ingredients together

Add liquid ingredients alternately with dry to the butter mixture

Add raisins

Chill dough for at least 12 hrs

Divide dough into fourths
