2 1/2 c Sifted Flour 1 ts Baking Powder 1 ts Baking Soda 1/2 ts Salt 1/2 c Shortening 1/2 c Sugar 3/4 c Honey 1 Egg, Separated 2 oz Chocolate, Melted 1/4 c Water 1/2 c Sour Milk

- 1tsp baking soda
- 1/2tsp salt
- 1/2cup shortening
- 1/2cup sugar
- 3/4cup honey
- 1egg, separated

Cream shortening with sugar and honey until fluffy

Add 1/2 cup dry ingredients and blend

Add beaten yolk and chocolate

beat thoroughly

Add dry ingredients and liquids alternately in small amounts, blending after each addition

Fold in stiffly beaten egg white

Bake in greased pan in moderate oven 350?F for 40 to 50 minutes.
