Spicy Fruit Compote
1 Two-inch cinnamon stick 6 Whole cloves 1/4 c Sugar 1/2 c Port, sweet red wine or -apple Juice 1/2 c Water 2 tb Lemon juice 1 pk (11 ounces) mixed dried -Fruit 2 Bananas, sliced

Heat cheesecloth bag, sugar, port, water and lemon juice to boiling in 2-quart saucepan

Stir in dried fruit

Heat to boiling

Simmer uncovered 10 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until fruit is plump and tender
