- 2c sugar
- 1/2ts baking powder
- 1/4ts salt
- 1t ground cloves
- 1c buttermilk
- 1t vanilla
- 1c margarine
Directions

3 c Flour 2 c Sugar 1/2 ts Baking powder 1/4 ts Salt 1 t Ground cloves 1 c Buttermilk 1 t Vanilla 1 c Margarine 4 ea Eggs 1/2 ts Soda 2 ts C

gradually add sugar

Beat until light and fluffy

Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition

Combine dry ingredients

Add alternately with buttermilk, beginning and ending with flour
